Whom is it for?

Sensoa – developer of the Flag System – asked Rutgers to support international organisations with the implementation of the Flag System. Rutgers created an international community to offer this support. Our main objective is to enhance healthy sexual development of children and young people and to prevent sexual coercion.

Why Rutgers as the international implementer?

Rutgers is an international centre of expertise on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). We support our partners internationally (across Europe, and in Africa and Asia) to improve sexual and reproductive health and the acceptance of sexual rights and gender equality in their countries. We approach sensitive issues in a positive way and have gained a wealth of experience in making sexuality and SRHR a topic of discussion within different cultural contexts.

We select our partners carefully. We prefer to liaise with civil society and government organisations with experience working on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, for example local Family Planning Agencies (IPPF). And in some cases we work together with Dutch NGOs such as Oxfam and Simavi.
