Evidence-based

The system was proved to be effective by the University of Ghent (Belgium).

The Flag System makes sexual behaviour discussable and encourages feedback in an educational setting. By working with the Flag System, professionals pay structural attention to sexuality and sexual coercion in individual contacts with young people. Sexual behaviour is seen as part of the development of young people. Aſter implementing the Flag System in Residential Youth Care, research found that professionals felt more capable in assessing and coping with the sexual behaviour of children and young people.
